A sports bar is a bet on regulars, not tourists chasing a fireworks show. That's the tell. Shades isn't opening a beach-town novelty. It's opening the kind of place people return to on a random Wednesday in November, which is precisely when the Village next door has gone quiet.
The rest of 2026's Grand Boulevard additions follow the same local-facing pattern, and both already landed earlier this year. Perla Baking Co., already established in Defuniak Springs, opened its Boulevard location in early 2026 with pastries and coffee aimed less at the day-tripper crowd and more at the person who wants a croissant on the way to work. The One Thing That Never Moves
